In 2019 the Fontes Linguae Vasconum scientific journal will celebrate its 50th anniversary (1969-2019). The journal has witnessed the advances in Basque linguistics since the 1960s: many of the most important contributions to the field were published there, such as materials to analyze a given local variety of Basque or studies devoted to different aspects of the language. Thus, the journal has been a tool of reference for scholars, both to publish results of their work and to have access to latest developments in Basque Studies.
To celebrate the anniversary, this international conference will take place in Pamplona (Spain) on 6-7th March 2019. The conference has two major objectives: on the one hand, to disseminate latest advances in Basque linguistics and, on the other hand, to present topics, methods and findings from other fields of linguistics which might be relevant for research on the Basque language.
Apart from plenary talks, nine thematic workshops have been organized. Each workshop will host an invited talk by an expert in the field, and a call for papers will be open for researchers to contribute.
Furthermore, the most relevant contributions will be published in a peer-reviewed monograph.
