The creation of Fontes Linguae Vasconum journal was not an isolated event. It has to be seen in the context of efforts to promote Basque and the heritage of Navarre undertaken by the Regional Council of Navarre (Diputación Foral de Navarra), and within it, the Prince of Viana Institute and the Department of the Promotion of Basque (1957-1972).
This section includes documents and photographs from that period, which illustrate the work of the Department of the Promotion of Basque and the development of the journal.
