Research gives value to a document: it clarifies issues related to its content, date, place of creation, and motives for its importance for the society nowadays. Without research, a document is just a piece of paper. In the last decades, Basque Philology was introduced at the university, and thank to that theoretical and methodological standards in linguistic and philological research were applied to the stdy of Basque.
